Real Recycling

At the heart of our care for the planet,
Is a sustainable cycle we share.
For some, this may make you feel queasy,
When reminded and fully aware.

On an infrequent visit to London,
Thirsty and needing a drink.
I was watching the flow of the water,
As it filled up my glass at the sink.
I know it has been sterilised, then piped round all those bends.
Well, it is a good way from the river Thames.

Oxford, Abingdon, Wallingford and now
Marlow, Maidenhead, Reading and Slough.
Same old water, treated, filtered, pumped.
Used by all those people,
Passing through their tums.

“You’re kidding.”
No, it is a fact.
Recycling is quite fast.
Come on…….. Drink up,
It’s good to think
