The Glitter Ball of Belief
I was reflecting on religions
To wonder……….. Why the strife?
The endless disagreement.
Their umpteen views of life?
In seeking prompts or answers,
The aim to cast some light.
Surprisingly; the answer was brief.………. Not one is right.
Should that appear dismissive,
I endeavour to entreat.
Each faith is more than helpful,
Is their teaching though complete?
If you consider all the knowledge of this Universe and life,
It would overload your mind,
With confusion running rife.
All religion’s treasured teachings,
Some with legends from above,
The thread or theme that binds them is the endless power of love.
There’s help with many questions, yet on matters less than clear,
Some curious tradition, tinged with dogma, may appear.
Remember lively evenings as I ask, “Do you recall,
How night clubs and most dance halls
Had those mirrored glitter balls?”
Suppose all Earthly knowledge,
Both the known and all unseen.
Appears as massive glitter ball,
Vast sphere of light serene.
Though brilliant, it is daunting,
As its depths profound reveal.
A trillion, zillion facets;
Shining wisdom to appeal.
Beliefs all offer facets,
Through their scripture, culture, time.
Some blend with one another,
Shared facets then align.
Beyond their varied teaching are limits clear to view.
A greater light is shining, both infinite and true.
The lesson overwhelming,
While for love and peace they pray.
Please talk and come together,
Let no differences hold sway.
See far beyond religions,
When beliefs perhaps confound,
Embrace fresh sense of spirit and let loving ways abound.
Aware of greater knowledge in that light of Glitter Ball.
Reset all aspiration and let selfless love enthral.
