Get Off The Train
Be Watchful of Compliance
On they go, accepting, the journey of the years.
To savour set existence and to relish what appears.
Life seen as bright, inspiring,
Opportunities galore,
Though they often pass, quite fleeting, leaving little time for more.
What though for lives that judder?
Slow hours that pull them down.
The fog of mind depression,
Obscures; sweet thoughts to drown.
No joy to help transition, to uplift when briefly sad.
That naughty little pattern, destined for feelings bad.
The options lay before us,
Like offers in big store.
To exist in long held sequence or transform;
Love life, seek more.
The question then, which outlook?
As none are set in stone.
Imagine, ditch the limits of expectations bland,
Accept new destination.
The train of life to hand.
If committed to some sequence, that encourages regret.
Stop at the nearest station.
Old tendencies forget.
The tie that is conformance, through long established days.
Stand free.
Embrace the prospect.
Fresh future greets your gaze.
The life train of compliance relentlessly steams on.
Get off.
It goes in circles.
Choose place where you belong.
Believe in your soul purpose,
The reason you are here.
Leave train of repetition.
Relax……………. Let change draw near.
Perhaps a pause for courage, deep breath and then begin.
Swap worries of the present,
What will fresh future bring?
Contemplate, though briefly and in the station………rest.
Observe that fast food outlet.
The ultra processed queue.
Consistent, once appealing……. Is it still the way for you?
Head off for something different,
Withdraw from endless round.
Leave train of set compliance,
Look up, let life astound.
