On Seeing Clearly

The wonders of the Universe are nothing to espy.
Leave awe inspiring vision of the vast, dark, starry sky.

Instead, in moment humble,
See the lesson being taught.
What mind beyond creation, vast scenes of order thought?

From love that gave existence.
Earth’s evolution set.
Through epochs, eras, decades;
Key life forms gone and yet
The gift to rule………Dominion………. is ours,
Should we forget.

No more let self-importance,
Of our presence……Fleeting……….Brief.
Yet our impact,
Clear before us,
Heads humanity to grief.

The choice preferred……… Consumption.
Expectant of yet more.
Dismiss it, leave the carousel.
Step off…… Direct the will.
Share greater loving purpose, and each tender soul fulfil.

Bring out cooperation and inwardly reflect.
Forget religious foibles and some need to genuflect.
Refresh with depth of vision of our planetary space.
When free of cosy thinking,
Let humility embrace.

Why not return, reflecting, on this Earth and our great role?
Great cog within creation,
True humanity extol.

A whim?
Oh no…….. A consequence.
As present trends define.
Let selfless aspiration,
Bring forth its guiding sign.

Uplifting sense of spirit, from which we never tire.
To welcome true love’s purpose.
Change this cauldron of desire.
