Did Fortune Give This Planet?

Did fortune give this planet?
A green and blue delight,
That shimmers in the darkness of interstellar night.
This Earth, beyond all neighbours shines beauty to afar.
As Universe gigantic.
Dwarfs Sun.
Our life source star.

Its light; once deemed eternal,
One day shall wane……… Oh dear.
All life forms, nations, cultures
Will cease and disappear.

Not yet of course…….. slow coming.
Thoughts far from normal days.
The scale…. Colossal …. Daunting.
Gives time to reappraise.

Reflect on sequence complex.
That history doth spell.
The fossils. ….. Long lost kingdoms.
Old rocks their tales do tell.

From single cell first life forms,
As proteins coalesce.
To plants and bees, those dinosaurs,
Warm mammals bring finesse.

Then upright little humans,
Who grew, in turn to find,
That evolution physical,
Transformed to growth of mind.

The power of thought took over.
Each day would offer choice,
Freedoms gently beckoned.
Traditions lost their voice.

Mull over fleeting presence
Of this human life epoch.

With shopping, work and leisure,
On core of molten rock.

From rural tribal village to towering penthouse suite.
Each life with hidden purpose
To find and then complete.

What prospects for the future?
The challenge, through which door?
The options?
…… Love with thoughtfulness
Or ..… simply seek some more.
As stuff and all appealing,
Succumb to mindless oath.
Keep on, embrace the mantra of economic growth.

Upon that key decision sets humanity its course.
Less loving selfless journey, cooperative and free.
The preference?
Yes, consumption,
We’ve not enough, the plea.

Adrift upon this planet, our home in time and space.
Consider sense of purpose beyond this silly race.

Peer far beyond religions, who profess their unique role.
Spot limits in the thinking and be watchful of control.

Dwell more upon creation.
The thought ..…. The depth…….. Design.
Question then its purpose.
What of consciousness divine?

Forget about democracy, autocracy or worse,
Its human evolution on which we should converse.

The thought that all endeavour
Shall fade one day to nought.
Why am I here? Defies us.
True purpose can be wrought.

The question smoulders gently,
Are we more than lumps of meat,
That stomp around the planet,
Seeking somewhere nice to eat?

For complex matters physical,
Researchers can explain.
Yet, what clarity of outcome, beyond this present reign?

It makes the world of difference when you sense that life goes on.
No more as earthly body,
Still there, though born of light.
As now of course, in consciousness,
The soul or spirit bright.

Encompassing all character,
The inner nature, gifts
Unique with strengths, emotions and weakness as befits.

With earthly span determined
New life then gently flows.
Same qualities and presence,
In place that no one knows.

A few perhaps recall it.
Be reassured. At one.
Life never stops.
Be ready,
For chances to be won.

See death as mere transition
To life that will delight.
Reflection comes as consequence.
On matters wrong and right.

No fearsome day of judgment,
beloved of holy book.
More gentle conversation on how things went and look.

That last life views like catch up,
Some replay on live screen.
Yet real, with simple questions.
‘Is this how I was seen?’

From pride, regrets, successes,
Those defining moments rend.
Rise beyond emotion,
Let karma help amend.

The outcome all dependent.
On whether to accept,
Or fight, dismiss or challenge.
Opportunity deflect.

It cannot be avoided, merely endlessly delayed.
The point?
Create a future.
Old limits to be swayed.

One day…. Reincarnation.
New life chance all agreed.
Be wary of all weakness and let loving ways succeed.

One further thought to contemplate.
It’s tough when this appears.
At the moment of arrival,
Your recall disappears.

That’s it.
As new born baby,
Adorable and cute,
No clue as to deep purpose
While you’re kicking woolly boot.

That consciousness of spirit,
Withdraws deep in the mind.
To return upon your leaving,
With another life refined.

Look at life, seek purpose
Not prophesy from seer.
No end. A new beginning.
We do not disappear.

The concept.
Evolution;
Of each spirit,
Sense it grow.
Far more than earthly triumphs,
Key karma has to go.

Forget about achievement,
Position, power or wealth.
Share inner gifts and talents,
Let no weakness in through stealth.

The focus? Love and service.
Let selflessness fulfil.
While aware of all around you.
When influenced.
Be still.

This brings each life true purpose,
To return, reincarnate.
To choose life circumstances
Of where, then pick a date.

New parents, maybe family,
Who may offer all as host.
Though it could be far from easy,
Yet should fit your needs the most.

From rich to war zone poverty.
Immense in scope and scale.
All lives to offer purpose,
Stop suffering.
The grail.

For many born suburban,
To parents who adore.
Delightful life around them.
No awareness of before.

A time to relish prospects.
Old foibles to redress.
Unknowing, stepping forward,
Hidden qualities express.

Priorities when earthly
Favour logical appeal.
Remember intuition,
With its secrets to reveal.

Do question life’s great purpose.
While many see set ways,
Held rigid by tradition.
No purpose to their days.

Stand free of shallow living.
Look, think and question why?
Aware there is a consequence,
When the direction means comply.

If addicted to consumption,
Enough will set you free.
Should love be self-indulgent,
What purpose then to see?

As on they rush, unhindered,
Broad path, long trod in vain?
No purpose, sense of spirit,
Same lesson, the refrain.

Meanwhile, this is our planet,
For use as was designed.
Fruitful, fertile, provident,
With human life in mind.

To see beyond the surface
Life’s purpose to revere.
Develop great awareness,
Use thought and dreams sincere.

Embrace cooperation and let selfless love abound.
Enlighten lives in darkness, be they frets or fears profound.

As for that Earthly ending?
No Sun?
Feel no despair.
More life will gently beckon,
Though obviously elsewhere.
