The Glamour Model
On Finding Spiritual Purpose.
A vivacious glamour model, with a body to astound,
She had designer everything, jet plane to whizz around.
Her sponsors were delighted to provide her bags and clothes,
As well as all cosmetics and some work on lips and nose.
Her fans would swoon on hearing each tweet on new tattoos,
As well as who she’s dating in stratospheric shoes.
There was a PR problem, at least the story goes,
As with red acrylic finger nail, she tends to pick her nose.
Imagine how this habit would make her sponsors reel,
As the face of all their products
Pursued her interest with some zeal.
This is not our market wails a frantic CEO,
I’ve had enough, it’s over.
That woman has to go.
Then the image makers fretted as with millions in her thrall,
They had to change her quickly or risk massive profits fall.
Appointing top advisors,
The finest in the land.
Despite professional efforts,
She succumbed to errant hand.
Becoming almost desperate, they decided to implore,
Please stop. We really want you.
Let’s all make millions more.
She smiled, “It is this presence that you ask me to sustain.
Quite honestly, it’s boring and you lot are a pain.
I know, I’m paid a fortune for this role I now abhor,
That’s it’” she said, “I’ve had it; besides my nose is sore.
Do you like my saggy jumper and unkempt ancient jeans?
I’m off to rescue animals.
This time behind the scenes.
The prospects are uplifting,
I’m free from feeling glum.
No creepy paparazzi taking photos of my bum”.
From superficial lifestyle, events had to transpire
To prompt her change in living, fresh motive to inspire.
Her sensing lost contentment was half the battle won.
To find that gift with animals. Good habits had begun.
Though wealthy with position, a dream that most pursue,
She found that true fulfilment engaged her spirit too.
Embrace all hidden consequence,
Forget all you have done.
The cause hides in your karma and will only disappear,
When you see it as one reason as to why you’re really here.
In the search for sense of purpose.
Should you head off on your own.
Prioritise your peace of mind……
Please leave your nose alone.
